About the course
Objectives of UNIX O/S course is, that participants are acquainted with UNIX operating system, including UNIX history, terminology, UNIX distributions, vendors, current issues and trends. Course provides a review of UNIX technology and core components of UNIX system and their connection. Additionally, it investigates user account security, logical access paths, including authentication and password settings. It also covers UNIX file security and related risks, schedule management, system accounts, network security and services.
Participants will be able to:
- Determine and describe commonly used operating systems.
- Identify operating systems functions.
- Describe basic UNIX history, culture, vendors and versions, use of adequate terminology.
- Describe current issues and trends in UNIX platform.
- Describe basic UNIX architecture, components, network and communication interoperability.

- Describe UNIX system file structures and default folders and files, which are usually included.
- Describe UNIX user account security and logical access paths, including authentication and password settings.
